In the West, All Saints’ Day is very popular. And in Russia, Halloween is controversial. Let’s figure out what advantages can be derived from this event.
Do you often organize holidays? So that with guests, gifts, contests and treats? Surely, like all of us, only on New Years, on birthdays, and on special dates. And Halloween is another reason to get together with families. Send invitations to your friends and warn that the dress code will apply: only witches, ghosts and other evil spirits are allowed to the party. Let them dream up the costumes. You can even arrange a competition for the best outfit with fun prizes. And what a photo shoot will turn out is just awful!
Halloween is not only a masquerade, but also creativity. Let your child show imagination. Moreover, kids like to dilute the interior with homemade decorations. For example, you can make a garland of bats out of paper, hang an artificial spider web in the corners. You look, at the same time, and will no longer be afraid of spiders. You can call dad for help and together turn the pumpkin into Jack’s lamp. And with my mother, bake original holiday cookies in the form of fingers with claws or some other fear. Scary but fun! And it’s helpful – when you and your children do something together, it is very beneficial to your relationship.
Well, who of us doesn’t want to give up everything from time to time, forget about our adult responsibilities and feel like a child? Halloween is a great opportunity for that. Indulging in even silly, but such pleasant fun and fooling around with your children, you will not only become closer with your child, but also relieve everyday stress.
There is, perhaps, only one “but”. Costumes, treats and games are, of course, good. But in such a matter, the main thing is not to get carried away and not turn family gatherings into a ball of Satan. If you have very young children in your circle, keep in mind that too scary mummers can scare them. For example, a teenager will be delighted with a zombie mask, but a child of two or three years old may burst into tears with fear.
– Preschoolers still have a weak and unformed psyche. They hardly distinguish between fairy tale and reality. Adolescents are another matter. They need to try on different roles, and it may be useful for them to feel for themselves what good and evil are.
